IAT - It’s About Time Travelling History Museum

Step into Sri Lanka’s recent past through stories, memories and interactive displays at the It’s About Time Travelling History Museum, currently hosted at the Colombo Public Library.

The exhibition invites visitors to explore important moments and personal experiences connected to Sri Lanka’s post-independence history. Through multimedia storytelling, historical material and community memories, the museum creates an engaging space for reflection, learning and meaningful conversation.

Visitors can also join free guided tours conducted in English, Sinhala or Tamil on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Schools and organised groups can request specially arranged guided sessions, making the exhibition suitable for students, educators, families and visitors interested in Sri Lankan history. The Archive of Memory and the Library Museum located on the second floor can also be explored during the visit, offering an extended journey through historical records, stories and cultural memory.
