12th Colombo International Theatre Festival 2026

Experience international theatre in Colombo at the 12th edition of the Colombo International Theatre Festival, one of Sri Lanka’s major platforms for bringing local and overseas theatre artists together.

Running from 22 to 28 August 2026, the festival centres on the International Mono Drama Competition and brings a programme of performances and cultural exchange to Elphinstone Theatre in Maradana. CITF’s broader mission is to expose Sri Lankan audiences and theatre practitioners to international theatrical practices, new performance approaches and cross-cultural artistic collaboration.

The 2026 festival campaign states that more than 50 artists from 14 countries are expected to participate.
